Assistant Director
Position: Assistant Director

Job Summary:
Playhouse Child Care Center prides itself in making each day count in children’s lives by providing quality care and learning opportunities to prepare each child for school readiness. We are currently seeking an Assistant Director at our Sartell location. The primary objective of the Assistant Director is to act as a classroom teacher along with assisting the Director in running the operations of the Center. This is an ideal position for a motivated individual who has interest in leadership and Administration while learning hands-on. We are looking for an adaptable and proactive person who is able to learn in a stimulating, active environment. Someone who has the passion to work and grow professionally in the Child Care Industry.
Main Job Duties:
- Responsible to support the Center Director with tasks as assigned related to the overall operations of the Center and with coordinating all aspects of the program to ensure that developmentally appropriate quality Child Care services are provided, and that the philosophy, policies, and procedures are maintained.
- Knowledge of all positions within the Center and the ability to be flexible to adapt to scheduling needs and the ever-changing needs of the Center. This position will be scheduled weekly room coverage.
- Is a role model by providing leadership in a professional manner that is respectful to families, staff and the Community.
- Provides quality customer service and a quality Child Care environment for families enrolled. Communicates effectively with parent’s and guardians regarding their children.
- Maintains children’s files in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
- Conducts parent tours and facilitates enrollment paperwork
- Responsible for completion, approval and reporting of Staff Development Training Records.
- Assist Center Director with licensing tasks and responsibilities.
- Maintains and updates the staff board.
Education:
- 8 Semester Credits related to Child Development
Experience:
- Previous experience working in Child Care
Qualifications:
- Meet or strive for DHS Rule 3 Director requirements
- Ability to pass a criminal background check required by licensing agency
- Current CPR and First aid certification or ability to obtain as required by licensing agency
- Basic knowledge and ability to apply early childhood education principles and relate to staff
- Ability to foster and maintain a team approach within the Center
- Ability to accept guidance and direction from Administration.
- Ability to accept change and anticipate Center needs
