Nutritious Meals and Snacks
At Playhouse Child Care, our staff provides breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack for the children at our facilities. We even make our own baby food! Daily breakfast and lunch are served family-style to encourage children to develop independence by gathering their dishes, passing serving bowls, and assisting with clean up.
We provide healthy and nutritious meals and snacks to the children we serve. We follow the USDA recommended meal patterns and choose to use some whole grains, fresh and frozen produce, and low-sodium items, therefore limiting the number of processed items on our menus. We can also accommodate any dietary restrictions or special requests you may have for your child.
Some of our locations participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Farm to Early Childcare Program, providing fresh produce, meats, and milk from local MN Farms. We are proud to partner with Minnesota Farmers to provide locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as Minnesota-raised turkey and beef to our children at all of our Child Care Centers throughout the year. Our staff is continually researching and expanding on our options of locally grown products.
